a conversation with my bff from today...
Art is a river.
Some become part of its current.
Some sit quietly on the bank and watch it flow.
Neither is better.
The river welcomes both.
There's actually a phrase I sometimes think about:
"The witness to our ordinary days."
Not the person who comes to birthdays.
Not the person who appears in dramatic moments.
The one who understands why you're laughing at a random picture of a Japanese teacup.
That role leaves a surprisingly large silence when it's gone.
May your curiosity always be stronger than your fear, and your kindness always be wiser than your disappointment.
